Kokkol Lake Monster

One day while Pechersky and his son were on the shore, the surface of the lake about 25 feet out broke into deep ripples, and a snakelike monster reared up through the churning water. Its massive head was about 6 feet long, and its thick, serpentine body was, by Pechcrsky's estimate, 50 feet long.

Terrified, Pechersky called a warning to his son and scrambled up a steep embankment to get his gun. The monster was still in view by the time rather and son returned to the lakeshore, but within moments it began to submerge. As it sank and the water swirled over it, Pechersky realized that he could easily have picked up either the still camera or the movie camera instead of his gun.
